Okay so, this blog post is going to be a little bit different than the rest, and that is because it’s going to be a book review but a book that’s one Wattpad. This book is free to read so you don’t have to pay for anything which is awesome, and you read it on your phone or device like it’s a kindle app with aspiring authors. This book that I have recently finished for the second time is called Breaking the Bad Boy.
Ashley Martin has had a traumatizing experience that has left her broken and with a burden that no child should carry. Tyler Miller is the typical scandalous bad boy who acts on impulse, blinded rage and will single-handedly destroy anybody who stands in his way.
Two polar opposites are thrown together, with a past that destroys them. Forced to overcome their differences. It’s time for Ashley to stop running away from his death glares, cold shoulder, and impassive faces.
Driven by determination for a school assignment, midnight walks in the past, and secrets that can’t stay hidden. Fate decides to shake the boat, hard. Turning the situation into a decision – fight or flight.
The chance of a lifetime to undo what’s wrong and maybe just maybe her heart will piece together with the help of her childhood crush Tyler Miller.
I don’t know when this book was published but the author is @kaddydee on Wattpad. And I am pretty sure she has written some other amazing books like this one.
This book is based on two main emotions – grief and guilt. Death does that to a person and sometimes it completely ruins them in a way no one can bring back. But what this book showed me was that with determination and the love and support from family and friends anything is possible.
As I said before this is the second time reading this and I still was surprised by some of the intricate details that add to the plot.
Breaking the Bad Boy, I would say is a dark contemporary as it does revolve around a lot of death and loss. It does have some swearing and other content in it, so I don’t believe its suitable for younger people.
Regarding the characterisation of the two main characters – Tyler Miller and Ashley Martin. The author really brings them to life and are amazingly described down to the golden freckles. I have fallen in love with these characters as in the book someone has an accident that has left them insecure, but it has really taught me that no matter what you look like you are still beautiful inside and out even if you don’t see it yourself.
Breaking the Bad Boy really does teach you to take advantage of the time you have with the people you love because you never know when fates going to strike.
Overall this is an amazing book that I highly recommend to anyone who wants to try out Wattpad or just needs something to read. I promise you that you won’t regret it.
